CHUNKS of Dirt! I want clean fills

OK, on the weekend, i had some problems with the Reg on my Matrix creeping. At one point i chronoed it after letting it sit for 10 minutes, and it shot 420! I could clear it with a few shots and it'd be fine for a minute, but then creap up again. It smashed paint and was generally a pain in the @ss, and no mater what i did it kept creeping.
So i took it home and rebuilt it last night, and thankfully the creeping has stopped.
However, in my reg i found CHUNKs of dirt! I'm not talking about little flakes, but actual chunks!
Now i'm putting breathing quality air into our dive tanks at practice, and HPAC have staked their reputation on clean air. We all know that the air at the Millennium Series is dirty, and we know that diving about in the dirt is going to cause some problems is you don't have a fill nipple cover. But somewhere along the line i got CHUNKS of dirt in my air supply!

I guess what i'm getting at, is that it's really important to protect the cleanliness of your air supply. It's also important to learn how to rebuild a regulator, (it's really easy, and you can find manuals on line for any reg), because dirt in the reg causes guns to creep.

I guess it's like the guy says 'keep your powder dry' but instead it's 'keep your air supply clean '

What more can you say, well put colin. We must learn to maintain this expensive and life threatening equipment we shove by the side of our faces every weekend. An hours worth of work can save you a lifetime of pain.

the thing is, if you maintain the air supply on your marker then you're going to have a better time playing.
You can run your marker closer to 300 fps, and you don't have air hoses blowing out all the time.
I didn't even mention the safety issue.

In fact from what most techs tell me, the bulk of problems in modern pneumatic markers is caused by dirt in the system. If i had left this problem unchecked, i would have eventually blown the solenoid in my gun. £50 down the drain.
I might have blown some more hosing, or smashed the derlin bolt in my gun (can happen on a matrix if the pressure goes way up), and that would have cost me too, and i might have gotten hurt like ian.
But if by some freak coincidence, if i had shot somebody with my pressure creeping way up like that, they could have gotten seriously hurt.
I am constantly learning what works and what dosn't, and although i'm no expert i'm much better informed than the average paintballer. How many players are running about with grimy regs, just waiting to explode?

This is why i have changed my mind, no clearing shots over the chrono, your first shot counts. If your reg creeps then you shouldn't be allowed to play, simple.

Buddha, i wanted this thread here so people would read it, i think a lot of people skim over the techroom.

Toma, i found that Planet's fittings hold up to high pressure. But looking into braided hosing too, because i'm just not confortable with plastic bits anymore.

Planets fittings hold up to the pressure most of the time, because of the 1 to 3 safety factor built in to every pneumatic product. But this is at their burst pressure, not their working pressure.
Colin i'm not trying to convert people to a completely new idea here, just improving the pressure rating of fittings that are not suitable for the job.

(i dont use air myself so just try to understand)
its for certan that people who dont use nipple caps
get dirt in the hole and this dirt gets transfrered in to the
tubes witch stick out the ar refill thingys and then go into some one else'es air system..
maybe all people who use air must use a nipple cap.. (for safety reasons!)

(tell me if that made sense)
