Hi all, just got into paintball and bought my first marker, T68

Entered Diamand wars and when I went to get the marker chrono checked, it was firing betwean 315 to 345, the limit for the day was 280.

After trying to adjust the marker for a good 30min the end figure would not move from 315 to 345.

Was advised to cut the volosity spring down in size or its the wrong one and someone else said theres a problem with the air presure settings within the marker.

Has anyone come across this and what can I do to put it right

+++++HELP+++++++

What pressure was your bottle. Dont know if this affects things much but i know with a Angel you need a LP bottle as you have issues with a HP bottle.

I may be complete wrong

No the Reg

You can get a Low pressure reg or a high pressure reg on your bottle.

Your looking at the amount of air thats left in your bottle

on the reg it says DREG 3000hp ~0029
5/8-18UNF 08/08

It's highly unlikely to be your bottle reg output - only a few models of Angels really had this issue.

As your gun is a mechanical blowback operated marker, then you will need to adjust the speed by the velocity screw (on the back of the gun in your case, just underneath the asa/stock) check your manual or use the online one here: http://www.rap4.com/operation/t68_manual.pdf&pli=1

If that doesn't work, then changing or cutting the spring will do the job, but you would be best advised getting someone to do this for you - your local store will be able to help I'm sure.

we spent over an hour on Sunday trying to get the rate correct, from fully in to fully out on the volosity adjustment there was no change. I did ring Rap4, who advised cutting the spring, again we cut off four rings with no change what-so-ever.

On the Rap4 site they do sell regulators and in the discription it does say, if you fit the reg you will be able to set the markers to work on public paintball clubs

reference from there web page :-
AG1 can also be installed in the butt stock of RAP4 and T68
The AG1 can reduce RAP4 velocity under 300 fps so that it can be used at public paintball fields.

I cannot understand why the volosity has not change after cutting the spring, could there be another problem......??????

not enirelly sure on how to solve your problem but this video may help:

i think the rap4 guns are made to be used on private land as more of a target practice or millitary training so the regulator would be a good buy in the long run for greater consistency and adjustability

hope this helps

Just had a good read on there website. The marker you have is intended to be used for military trainning
They have an adjustable velocity of between 300-350 fps.

I believe if you intend to use these markers on public sites , you will need to purchase an add on reg, so you can bring the fps below 300.

I am getting the feeling that my T68 is not really a paintball marker to be used in the UK, at clubs and tournies without having to modify it from the word go.

Do I try a regulator (throwing another £50 at it), hoping that this will get me up and running,or do I call it a day and try and get my money back.....???????

Where do I stand.....?????
