That's a bit expensive but looking down the list the empire ground pounder looks quite good so thanks for the link

If you are cost concious you may be better looking at used mate.

The main differences between brands are that the Empire ones have fairly solid blocks of padding most other brands just have a small amount of foam.

def a proto and remember they aren't chest protectors but they are bounce vests as they don't really help with the pain if you get hit but instead they hellp to make the ball bounce. you have to just take the pain.
i got my second hand proto bounce vest for £15 and remember that 2nd hand is the perfect route to go down for a newbie
good luck

hi chap
I thought i would just stick my head in to let you know what i thought.

I've owned the Empire bounce and it's a very good protector but i sold it as it feels like your wearing blocks of cardboard.

I own the Proto Chest Protector at the moment and love it. The only problem is that it does not protect as good as the empire bounce as it does not absorb the impact as good as the bounce.

But it's up to you. If you are scared of a bit of pain then buy the bounce but it's uncomfortable. The proto allows you to move allot easier but with less protection.

Also i bought both my tops off here second hand and both were in mint condition so i saved myself abit of £ to spend on more paint :D

/\ What he said! I have the Empire, and it's a bit restrictive - but lots of protection and bounce. As I mostly play back, I go with it, as it keeps me in the game longer, but the Proto would be much better for a more mobile front player
