Cheap 300bar 5year test...

Guys..im gonna get one of these as soon as.
Reconditioned 8L 300bar cylinders...£105 delivered (£90 each)
Not as big as a 12L divers tank..but for this price you could get two for the same money... AND they are fitted with dry valves so arent tested at the same frequency as Scuba tanks (coz they arent submersible) so thats cool as well, test every 5 years.

In my local dive shop it states on a notice on the wall that a 2 yr test is only required if it is used for submersible, surface use only is 5 yrs

Well...hopefully that is what i was getting at...I think you have to have a visual inspection every 2.5 years..then a hydro test every 5 years...if the tank is fitted with a wet valve, you have to adhere to these test schedules...you cant just say "well, im not a diver!"..if it is fitted with a dry valve, just every 5 years.
Sounds good to me..gonna get one...soon..very soon.

These are ex fire brigade cylinders, and you can find them cheaper than that. But they only have 5 years "life" left.

Cylinder originaly made 10 years ago with a 15 year life span. They sell them off, and you can buy a "recon" one with a new 5 year test. But after that you will have to get them destroyed, and buy another.

Still cheap if you ask me. 300bar as well.

Sorry, don't think that's a good deal at all???

Got my 300bar 12l dive tank for £100, that wasn't recon either and came with carry/handle and boot and full test... which is about the average you pay if you get a 2nd hand one from a dive shop...

Like garycarrot says, you only have to get them re-tested every 5 years for land use anyhow...

Also, you are very lucky to get one s/h from a dive shop, coz divers dont really use 300bar coz they are too heavy.

stoney cove do 232 bar ...15ltr..boot...carry handle for 130 and thats a brand spanker. ok not 300 bar but who needs 300 these days? most ballers only want them for testing and training days...if everyone in the team has a 15 its more than a enough we have always found.
