I will be taking part in a 5km run on the sunday 20th sept 2009.
5km thats not alot i hear you say, well it is when you are aiming to run it in under 20 minutes. Incase you are unaware 5km is the equivelant to 3.1miles, and to run 3 miles in 17 minutes is the equivalent to just over 6 minutes per mile.
I am running it to raise money for the Bristol Urological Institute which specialise in treating and trying to prevent prostate cancer, so in effect this is the male version of the race for life, but anyone can enter. I know alot of people run these races and post up asking for donations, so im not expecting a magnificent response, but even if this post only gained an extra £5 it would be an extra £5 over and above the rest.
I don't know how many of you have been effected by prostate cancer wether directly or indirectly but it is a major problem nowadays along with any other form of cancer. Whether you give a little or alot, all of it will go towards helping to save lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you would like to donate i will be at KOTH with my sponsorship form or you can donate via http://www.justgiving.com/Rhys-Jones.
Thanks,
Rhys
