Heard something today and thought..... wow..!!! can this really be true.....????????

The Millennium Series won't allow teams to shoot Celtic Paintballs at the Campaign Cup as Celtic are not an official sponsor of the series.........

Apparently, it cost 1,000,000 paintballs to become a sponsor.

Anyone know if this is true??????

It has to be total control though, its how the MS keps a watchful eye over staining paint etc...

The MS is run as a business, and there have to be perks to sponsoring the series. If anyone could sell paint, then what would be in it for companies like Draxxus to sponsor the series?

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Unfortuanatly guys to be a sponsor of the Millennium Series you have to give 1 Million Paintballs, this was all tied up at the beggining of the year.

So the no sponsor no shoot rule is in effect

500 FREE boxes of paint to sonsor an event really doesn't cut it for me........

All aside, I do appreciate that business's need to be run, on a profit (I run two myself), but I just find that a little steep.....

It doesnt matter if it cuts it for you though. All that matters is that sponsors like Draxxus, Evil and others will pay it.

There is a lot more than that to be made during the series though in paint sales to teams. Do you really think that business people like Piper would give away for free more than they make in sales during the series......? If they did they wouldnt be in business for long.

In Toulouse there were 150 odd teams, if every team shot an average of 20 boxes of paint in the event, then that would mean that the total business available at the event was around 3000 boxes. To have to give away 500 boxes at the start of the year to have a go at vying for that custom per event for 8 events, about 20,000 boxes a year, is obviously an acceptable business move for the paint companies.
