Hi all,

I've got a Deathstix carbon fibre barrel set and an Invert Nightstick for the missing deathstix bore. I got to use them for the 1st time yesterday and straight away the deathstix was puffing out confetti every few balls. There are some minor marks inside the barrel which was like that when I got it, so I thought that was the case and switched to my Empire barrel kit which was great, with only a few barrel bursts throughout the day. For the last 2 games of the day I thought I'd try out the Night stick which was brand new and no marks inside, but again, every few balls was confetti:confused:

I was using proto tournie balls with an invert mini and velocity was 292 +/- 3. It seems weird that the paint was fine in the metal barrel, but got shredded in the carbon fibre barrels.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Almost, the deathstix was .686, the empire was .687, and I was led to believe the nightstick was .692 when I bought it as that's the missing bore size in the deathstix kit. Paint seemed perfect fit for the smaller bores when I checked them with a number of balls.

Well Im not a fan of any barrel below 692, but if it was going through a 687 and not a 692 i would def say the issue is the carbon barrels, or the 687 is not a 687 :)

As to what is actually going on, I have no clue.

You know, it could be the paint. Even "top brand paint" has the occasional egg shaped ball, or even two balls stuck together. Ive even seen a blob of shell flat like a 10p piece in a bag many moons ago.

i would def say it's the paint proto tornie paint can be very tempremental if it's not really warm. i've use it some days and only had a couple of breaks. but others with differant make of markers where just firing soup.

ive had trouble with proto going through my .688 back (couldnt blow the ball out, had to get a fluffie and push it out so no wonder really) but a .692 no problems at all
