Captains?? Do we need them??

Ok guys, when in a team, what is it that 'makes' a captain.
What characterisitics do they need? (if any), what.. extra.... duties do they have to do? and is it possible to have a good team, without a defined captain or leader.

Basically we have a team, with no captain and i was wondering if that is important or not.

captin has to know where and when the team is meant to be, make sure everybody is ready......and has to make the hard decisions about who to play and he is the final word in an argument.

if you dont have a captin who is the face of the team to the tournament runners? if you want to contest a marshals decision then the captin is the one to do it.

who gets your team psyked up??? books the team into tournaments??

these can all be done by different people if the captin wants to take a low key role......the in the end all of these things must rest on him.

so he/she must be organised, confident, smart, cool, good looking, funny and me but seriously, wouldnt say you 100% need one, but what happens when there are 6 players in a 5 man, wh decidd who gets dropped each game?? you may already have a captin figure without knowing it

well you can have a team captin and a field captin and they both have very different roles.

the field captin has to kick some serious ass on the field and lead the team to glory. be loud, play by the book and be beyond reproach. somebody to get the team worked up for a game.

The team captin/manager off the fireld will do all the hard work making sure us mupped bllers dont leave our markers at home or put our pots in upside down or something. they book touraments and stuff like that.

A vote is a good idea, would would lead the team best, also needs experience to know who to drop etc. has to be respected and liked.........tis a tough job.

you may only want one capting but if you have 2 make sure they know what they are in charge of....so it dont get sticky

Hey There!

I say we go for a vote. Seems like the fairest way to do it. Thing is we need to have a 'team meeting' and seeing that Ally is never around that could be tricky.
But Twist who are we gonna find who is organised, confident, smart, cool, good looking, funny all at once??? I can do organised but I'm not too hot on the cool, good looking and smart parts!

I think captains are real important. They answer to no one and without them i think there would be too much chaos and no organization
