Can't get the velocity up..

This may be long, so bear with me as you may need all the information to assess the problem.
I have an '02 VF Cocker, installed the new Shocktech Pneumatics on the marker, sweetspotted the reg, gave it a short throw job on the hinged trigger that was installed over a month ago and still am having a problem with the velocity of the balls.
The gun is cycling fine and have the firing point of the gun right at the first part of the trigger pull.
The marker also has vacuum in the ball feed port (tissue test as outlined in the tech section) as opposed to any blowback so I don't think that would be a problem.
The problem I'm having is ever since the new pneumatics have been installed, I haven't had the fps I had with the factory setup. I can't get more than 250fps out of the marker, no matter what I try.
I tried (just yesterday) to replace the factory spring (in the velocity adjustment part) to help the hammer increase some fps, to no avail.
I even re-sweetspotted the inline reg (Sidewinder) and got that right too.
It still won't get past 250.
It's ironic that when I first got the hinged trigger (WGP brand), I sweetspotted the inline reg and got the thing to shoot way over 350 fps when adjusting and again, now can't get past 250. I'm using the same barrel, paintballs since all this change has occured.
The only thing I can figure is that I'm not getting enough air into the chamber to get the painballs to move.
Is there a possibilty that I have too short of a throw on the trigger??
I'll be honest with you, the gun cycles fine but has that occasional burp (or fart as I call it) in which it sounds like it is gasping for air on the recycle side.
Any suggestions??
I've played one tournament (which we won-thanks front guys) with this setup and could have gotten more ppl out if the velocity was up to par and it also sucks to have to drop the balls on opponents as opposed to shooting at them from a distance.
Since there is no one around my area that really knows about the Autocockers (damn Angels, Timmy's, and Impy's are just too simple), this is the best place I have for answers.
Any help would really be appreciated as we have a 3 big tournament in 28 days, so I need my Cocker to shoot properly.
Thanks again ppl.

Skeetmaster, I think that is the problem.
After looking at an animated gif of the autococker firing, I noticed that the cocking rod is going forward when on my gun, it is going back along with the backblock.

If you can see the cocking rod, when the trigger is pulled, the cocking rod goes into the marker, pushing the hammer into the valve. Then the ram forces the backblock back to recock the marker.
On my gun, both the cocking rod and the backblock are going together, simultaneously and think that the valve is not open enough to get the air for the proper velocity.
Now the last question.
How do you set it to where it is firing like it is supposed to?
Do I adjust only the sear via the hole on top of the marker??
Can I keep the short throw trigger or do I need to lengthen the pull??
Let me know and thanks for the answer.

Oh, I liked your site Skeet, very nice and like you, love cars, paintball etc. Heh, cars were my first love and got addicted to tourney style play not too long ago and never looked back. :D

Hmm....have you got the hoses round the wrong way on your three way?

very a miss there mate...

you should look here
No, no, I already know about that. It's all good on that end of it.
The ivg has been adjusted and all is working fine when it comes to shooting.
I thought I'd explained it thoroughly to keep the confusion down.
When you pull the trigger, the first thing that is supposed to happen is the cocking rod (the rod that goes through velocity adjustment in the back of the gun) is supposed to go in to press the hammer into the valve for the air to push the paintball. Once that happens, the ram pushes the cocking rod and backblock (simultaneously) back to recock the marker.
On my gun, when I pull the trigger, both the cocking rod and backblock go back, almost together instead of seperate.
I'll just retime the sear/ hammer again and see if I can't get the proper sequence.
Thanks.

My Eclipse used to do that, you just got it timed really close. That shouldn't effect velocity though, the only thing that may cause I thin is blowback in certain occasions, but like you say you ain't got that, so don't think thats the prob :)

when you say..on your gun when you pill the trigger...do you mean that the gun fires..then they go back simultaneously..or literally, pulling the trigger makes the back block and rod go backwards, opening the breech...as I said, hoses on the three way, the three way operates backwards when you have a hinge frame on the gun, so the hoses have to be reversed....ie...the thing that happens last on most guns, happens first on yours...and because the trigger is pulled back, it doesnt catch and so fires the marker when the ram goes forwrds again...maybe...i dunno...!

Okay, you say you put Shocktech peumatics on there right? Including the three way (The Bomb three way)? Because the Bomb works opposite most three ways because of the three o-ring design. For example, in a standard autococker (one with a single trigger slide frame), the hoses to the three way go as follows. From the reg to the middle of the three way, from the FRONT of the ram to the BACK of the three way, and from the BACK of the ram to the FRONT of the three way, and then you reverse the ram hoses in a hinge setup (Back of the ram to Back of the three way, and Front of the ram to Front of the three way). However, with the Bomb on a single trigger slide frame, the hoses go: From the reg to the middle of the three way, from the front of the ram to the front of the three way, and from the back of the ram to the back of the three way (the way they would typically go in a hinge setup). To use a hinge, you have to reverse those two hoses (put them back to the way they would look in the stock, slide trigger configuration with the hose from the BACK of the ram going to the FRONT of the three way, and so forth). Easy mistake to make since the Bomb operates with the hoses backwards of a normal two o-ring design. Check that.
