Rebate on Canadian Taxes

The Cdn gov't has a program to rebate the GST (our VAT) on durable goods removed from the country.

Typically you see the form at your hotel or a tourist type shop. But, that form works through a commercial company that sends the money quicker for a per centage of the value.

At the airport, try going to the Canada Customs branch and ask for the rebate form. They should have a copy and you have to go there anyway to have your receipts stamped. You will need a boarding pass to prove you're outbound.

I believe some provinces also have the same program for the Provincial Sales Tax (PST). Not sure where the form comes from though.
