Can u remove the reg from the bottle on a PMI preset

I have a 5000psi PMI Preset (the one with the evil bottle). I was just wondering if you can unscrew the reg from the bottle? As ive tried but its pretty firmly attatched and before i crack out the vice and mole grips id like to know if i stand any chance.

yeh man. Make sure there is no air what so ever in it and unscrew it.

It should come off easy. Mind and dont locktight it when u put it on another bottle.

Clearly if you kill yourself doing that, I didnt write this.

I've had to fight everyone of those I ever took apart. Good Luck. I use a bench vice with wooden feet on it. I grasp the top with all my strength and fight it 'til it lets go.

i sheared a pre set once trying to un screw it....
the hole threaded bit stayed in place and th top of the valve just fell off ?????




might have something to do with the vice and the huge set of stillsons tho ???
