I have a tippmann98 and am looking to make the jump from rec-ball to tournament play.

If I sell my tippmann, would a spyder AMG get me through a tourney?

yes but may be better to save a bit more and buy one of the 2nd hand bargains on sale at the moment. There are few new markers coming on the market and this means that people that their old markers need to be sold to finance thier new babies

As your experience grows you will start to yearn for more accuracy and a better rate of fire.

Never having used an AMG it may do you for a year but you can guarentee that after a year you will off to bigger and better things.

So the question is, do you want to learn your trade and then improve your kit as you start to require more or spend lots on a marker hoping that it is the right one for you and find maybe you cant get on with it?

Spyders in Tourney...

I'm with Daz on this one...

This weekend during the PA Cup a young man by the name of Dan Sanger played for Durham City using a spyder all weekend against Angels & E-blades. For the majority he played at the back & midfield and he took out quite a few players...so yes I'd say you can hold your own with one...

depends on how much you intend to play and at what level...I only bought a big flash gun because of peer pressure cos all my mates said I would be cool if I did.... :)

didn't improve my game any....I'm still one of the laziest players I know...now I'm just lazy with flash gun

spyder's can rock! steve who plays on our team has an e-99 which he favours over his race gun evo! so yes, they can be as good as any gun, its just they are cheap, and people persieve them as being crap. i do have to admit though the blow back semi's after a while do feel a bit pants to play with, cos they are loud and have quite alot of recoil. (compared to electro pneumatic markers).:) (and cockers:D )

It’s an excellent starter marker for playing tournament (ive had mine for a year). It’s true what is being said about Bad Company, they are getting results with the AMG. I would recommend the AMG classic if you do decide to go for one and may be later on get a Freak barrel system, trust me you will like the results. ;) Hope this helps.
