let me first say hats of to the organisers of campaign, and all involved, it was a great tourney, and i saw some awsome ball.
HOWEVER!!!

i was looking for an air system for one of my friends. i live in englend, and all but 2 of the shops were trying to sell me DOT tested bottles!!
for those who dont know, it is illegal for a UK player to use a DOT tested air bottle. No uk site is insured for you to use or fill it.
its not just a matter of not being able to test them (easily) in the uk.

The uk standard for air bottles in HSE. smart parts now sell dual tested bottles which are both HSE and DOT tested.
i even saw phoenix paintball flashing around a fully automatic dragun. (or something like that)

if we want to be taken serously in the sports world we really should get our safety rules right.
Traders should be prohibited from misleading customers into buying the wrong kind of bottle.
One person was even told "dont worry you probably wont have the bottle in 3 years (the test length) so it'll be fine" what they didnt mention was that it is illegal to even fill it in the uk.

american and (most) european players, where DOT IS the standard test for their equipment ARE alowed to use them in this country. but not us brits.

as a sport this needs to be sorted out.

Not just air, either. There I was thinking "at last I've found a small CO2 tank for me phantom" and there was DOT stamped at the top of the cylinder.

Speaking to most of the people there, they hadn't bothered bringing stuff they didn't think would sell. Maybe if they knew there would be a good chance to shift stuff (ie a large buying audience), they'd bring more. Possibly advertise the trade stands more?

That said, I really enjoyed myself. Big up to A Few Good Men!

another thing was that b4 i went (this was the first one ive been to) i was told it was a good place to pick up second hand stuff off of players.

however there was no way of finding out who had what.
maybe a "second hand" table or something comparible to the classifieds area of the forum would be a good idea for next year.
that way if someone wants to sell something, but is playing, it can be displayed with price, and enquires can be easily like conveyed between buyer and seller. Maybe needs a bit of thought, but the principle is sound. especialy cos its kinda a close to the MM season.

just a thought

The selling of second hand stuff was all down to yourself to organise there were lots of ads in the classified forum with the sellers stating they would be at Campaign...so what can you say, reply to the ads and get it arranged..a stand of used goods isn't going to happen.

Good point about the bottles, but then you forget that Europe thinks we are actually observant of thier rules (note SARCASM !!!) But it isn't right that basically all you could get was the DOT bottle but then as the sellers of dual tested bottles are English based and the others weren't kinda answers your disbelief (remember the tournament was setup to suit the Europeans not the English due to national holidays)..and yes there are suppliers in the UK and elsewhere that don't care as long as you buy the product, old story of legal to sell, legal to own, illegal to use....bit like the verbal contract that isn't worth the paper it is written on. The one thing that I found an annoyance was trade stands selling "old" stock at higher prices than you can buy direct from the makers...also did anyone notice that the exchange rate for Euro's had jumped hugely for three days ??

Best value item I saw was the JT gear sack for £62, I'm sure there were others but that one sticks in my mind

I was there, but I was forced to wear a raincoat, hat, sunglasses, and a fake moustache, the hardships of being famous....

Really, I was there, there were so many people I ran into, unfortunately there were also a lot of people I would have liked to run into, but didn't get a chance to....
