Aight here we go. So I'm getting into paintball. Right now I'm looking to get stuff that I can use on another gun if I want to upgrade. I just got a Black Dragun, and I am interested in getting a freak kit. What I have been looking at is a black AA 14 inch front, and a stainless steal back. I also want to get a 10 inch freak front (teardrop) eventually. I don't play any positions yet, so I want my freak to be flexable. I was just wondering what all your thoughts were on what I'm getting....I'm I making a mistake, because if I am please correct me before i hurt my self ;) Thanks for the input I really appreciate it.

Sounds good to me. You can't go worng with a freak kit since you will only have to buy a new back if you switch markers. Go for it!!;)

andy, if its money your worried about wasting, your in the wrong sport. paintball can get very expensive, but a freak kit would be very worth it. its used by plenty of users here, and probably a load of the pro/am teams. so ya cant be goin far wrong.
of course, i have a boomstcik, so i prefer them, but ive heard nothing but good of the freak.

Or you could take a look at the new powerlyte scepter barrel system which works in the same way as the freak with inserts and the ability to swap fronts and back to your desired configuration - the reviews it has been getting from people who have bought it are all good and its a fraction of the price of a freak which is even better.

Resident Freak expert here. Firstly, if you get a SS back then you end up talking about the barrel costing close on the price of the marker you're putting it on. Unless cosmetics are REALLY important to you, you probably might as well get the standard back.
Secondly, the front. 14 inch is a good all round standard length & should be fine for both front & back play. Don't decide what additional front you want until you know where you're going to end up on the field, as if you end up at the back then a 10 inch front will be no use.
AA vs Freak teardrop front. The teardrop is much prettier (IMHO) but is a total ******* to get clean. I now really wish I'd got the AA myself.

Thanks for the help

Thanks for all the help. The price of the back isnt a big deal to me since its only $15 more. I personally think that both the longer AA's,and the short Teardrops look cool, but thats just me. I still have to think about it for a bit, but I think I will get it. Also, what upgrades should I look at for a Black Dragun. I want to get a Check it Products blade trigger, and I want Dye stickys, but they aren't going to make them :( (I emailed Dye and the said they weren't making any) Right now I'm running co2, so HPA might be an option. Thanks again for all the input, you guys rock!

I got the Freak, and I just put about 100 balls through it and all I have to say is wow. This thing is accurate. I also switched paint from blaze to evil, so that probably helped too. Good Barrel+Right Bore Size+Good Paint=Accuracy! I was hit the same spot over and over, and I have a Black Dragun with c02. (And its like 40 degrees (F) ). Thanks again for all the help!
