In a word, no. Anything more than semi auto, i.e. 1 trigger pull per ball released, is illegal. Burst mode will give you more than 1 shot per pull, usually 3.

Erm, don't think you can actually. Check with Hotpoint but I think multiple firing modes is a legal grey area, which is why they are banned in tournaments just in case.

Actually Burst-Fire is not a legal grey area at all being clearly illegal under the terms of the Firearms Acts 1968-1997

Turbo was a bit grey because of the way it engaged (ie semi auto for a couple of shots before kicking off) but Full-Auto and Burst Fire clearly violates the letter of the law by any perspective

Although in reality you are unlikely to get prosecuted, the maximum penalty for use of dodgy fire-modes is actually a Ten-Thousand Pound Fine and/or ten years in Prison

It doesn't matter whether you use it on your own land or not Burst/Full-Auto is simply not legal so don't do it

Thanks Hotpoint, I was getting the burst mode & turbo modes mixed up when it came to legal issues. Knew I could rely on you to know the law in detail.
Hey, how about you do an article for PGI on the legalities of Paintball in the UK including stuff like this, & stuff on bottle testing etc. These same questions keep coming up on the boards & you seem to be the expert.

Interesting idea... the only downside would be that as soon as I got an article printed in PGI the conspiracy theorists would start saying I was just another stooge of the Paintball-Industrial Complex :p

Seriously though it's an idea and I do know quite a bit about the legal technicalities of the game here in the UK. It would certainly limit the number of times I have to post the same information here over and over again
