building practice fields

sounds respectable, obviously the most important thing to think about is the angles that a paintball could possibly leave the field at, also taking into account possible dropoff etc. Most insurance companies (I believe) consider 300 yards without netting to be the safe distance for people without goggles to be from a marker. So, my opinion is that netting should be high enough that a ball could not land anywhere within 300 yards (even though it won't reach that far) Hope all this helps

How about u build it the same height all the way round and then put a netting roof on it?
Also is it for commercial use? Cause if not i don't think u need insurance do u? Just a thought

netting

I was reading on a web site about some of the pro tournaments, they had netting at 12 feet, maybe this would be a good height, if people are around, if not then maybe lower!!! Just kinda see what's around, and who will be playing on the field, if they are good, maybe not so high, if they can't shoot the broad side of a barn,i'd keep it higher becuz they would probably somehow end up hittin someone on the opposite side of the netting..LOL.., also, bring into this discussion on how much money you can spend, so , maybe this will help!!!:D

My friends house is in the middle of nowhere and he has some woods in his backyard that are perfect for playing paintball. I wouldn't have to put netting up would I? There's like, no chance anybody could get hit.
