Building a training field?

Hmm, not really the perfect forum for it, but was wondering what the options are for setting up a training field. Just knocking the idea about at the moment, but what/where/how much are things we could use?

I've seen fields that use those sort of corrugated plastic pipes, like you see on building sites, but I've got no idea where I can find those, and how much they are?

A variation on that is using say a combination of pallets and barrels, but obviously these are heavy, unless using plastic barrels (again, are these readily available/costly?)

Otherwise, it seems to involved buying either a supair field, and I've seen other field kits in PGI etc, are these supplied in the UK?

I apologise for being a bit of a noob, and does anyone have any suggestions or anything?

Thanks!

with the majority of tournament in the Uk turning to Sup-Air fields, it seem pointless in traing on anything other than a Sup-Air field.

IMO, that is.

The 'pipe' you've described in what is called a Hyper Ball Field. I guess you can buy this from a builders / plumbers merchants.

Try a search on something like google for sup-air fields, it does bring back quite a few results.

If you could call rob at paintball direct (www.paintballdirect.co.uk) I know they do a reasonably cheap self inflating Sup'Air or try fat bob's (www.fatbobspaintball.co.uk) they have all the different types of Sup'Air fields that you can buy.

However there is an inflatable bouncey castle company next door to Reading Indoor paintball that offered to build a Sup'Air field for a very good price. So try some of those kind of companies and you might get a good price.

air ball is expensive mate (ours was) if you've got a couple of grand then it's the thing to get. The corrugated pipe is great though........ excellent substitute. Pallets aren't much cop as they are too flat and you can see through them no matter how well you cover them. Other options would be tyres..... stacked up around a pole or tied. Cheapest and quickest is probably hay bales. But none of them are as good as Sup-air.
If you are completely stuck, then use wooden stakes and green netting to make barricades. (it'll do at a push).

training

Hello m8 im part of a new team based on the south coast we would idealy like our own training faciltys but at the end of the day it comes down 2 cost, and haveing some 1 2 train agaisnt as a team what i can suggest is that were intrested is a coalition of funds in a supp air field that we can both use as if u will 'training sessions as an when and 4 indavidual use as a locatoin is needed 4 any sup air depending on our location 2 each other im willing 2 agree on a 50/50 split on the cost of a new sup air set up as we all need costant training if your intrested give me a buzz on the mail 2 tyray_2@msn.com i'm sure we can find a comprimise between the 2 teams.
regards Tony :)

So you should!!!:D :p :D

We've tried tyres already Jose and they're great for what we want, problem is getting them. You need a license to have them (Something to do with putting them back on cars etc!!) Hay bails would be fun though!!

I speak for both Vortex and myself (as we practice together) about this. We've got a field that would be perfect for a Sup' 'Air or Hyperball field. Plus it's on our land so no legal crap to go through (Is there?!?) All we'd need to do it put up netting to catch stray shots!

Hyperball would be cheaper I guess, but as WingNut said everything seems to be going that way when major tourneys are concerned.

Keep the feed back coming guys! It all helps!
