Hi all

As title says I have a bt4 slice which won't fire properly
I havnt used it for a while and when I tried to the other day I cocked it and tried to fire it but it would not fire unless I pulled the trigger with two fingers :-/

Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Thanks
Jonh

The trigger assembly can rust a bit if left for a while. Remove trigger frame, push out safety catch( can be stiff), pull out full trigger assembly, seperate the plates but bear in mind the trigger and sear have small springs in to make them return, strip out the springs trigger and sear, clean any surface rust or debris from the metal plates. I use a small amount of copper grease between the sear and plates to help them move freely, re assemble the trigger assembly but remember the longer of the 2 springs goes on the sear.

Put your gun back together and enjoy.

Thanks philfull.
I just done that and seems to still have the same problem :-/ there was no rust present and springs seemed to be in good condition. When I had the trigger assy out I tried it and looks as though the seer is dropping enough. Would it be a viable option make the hole that the trigger pivots on little bit bigger so I can pull the trigger that little bit further thus making the seer drop that bit further? Any ideas?

No the hammer pulls the sear over the trigger when the gun is together, if you make the hole bigger the sear wont trip back over the trigger and stay in the fire position. The only other thing the mechanism operates is the hammer. Good clean and check that the groove on the base of the hammer hasnt burred up.

Cant say i have had this problem on our rental stock that cleaning the triggers out hasnt sorted.

O I must be talking about another part. I haven't checked under the hammer yet so I guess ill check that out and give the whole assembly a good clean. Hopefully that will sort it and ill be back up and running. Thanks for your help again
