I'm looking at buying my first marker, I'm liking the look and sound of the BT Delta but I do have a few questions about it.

Firstly is it any good? I only have a budget of about £200 to spend on my first marker (not including anything else).

What type of games are they good for? and are they easy to upgrade if needed?

and finally for the same budget (or close!) is their anything you can suggest to buying?

Hi, they are pretty heavy and only really good for walkons / scenario games. Don't think about using them for tournament play :)
You can upgrade the barrel on it, but you'll lose the shroud. My son-in-law uses a BT Delta Elite and loves it. It has an electronic grip, rip clip, Apex etc and he hasn't bought anything else for it. Forget sights etc they are for show.
Simple to maintain, but a pain to clean as there are so many grooves for paint to get into.

Now... what kinda paintball are you looking to play?

If you want an all over good setup, then i'd buy this:

Be quick as it is a BARGAIN!!!

An Etha is a very good marker for starters - and if anything goes wrong, Planet Eclipse are superb for support. It will be great for scenario games, walk ons AND tournaments and the EMC kit really gives it some scope! :D

That does look nice but to be honest with you I would really like to buy my first marker brand new if you have any other ideas that would be great.

The Delta is pretty good then... but are you going for it purely based on looks? If so, it isn't really any different from a BT-4 but has cosmetic differences. It's big brother the Delta Elite has a lot more to it, but costs more because of it.
If you are wanting a good, cheap, solid marker then the BT Slice at £108.29 is a fantastic recreational marker. Heck, a lot of paintball sites are moving over to use them as they are so bulletproof.
Again, depends on what you want to do... if you buy something like the BT Slice / Delta and then 6 months down the line you want to play Sup Air, then you need to re-buy your gear.
Where abouts in the UK are you? It might be best to pop along to your local shop and have a feel for them.
Also, buy a DECENT mask. Not a £25 one. I'd spend £60+ - make sure it has either a thermal lens or dual pane thermal lenses. Something like Grills, I4s, JT Flex 8 etc - yes they cost a lot but fogged up mask will ruin your day.
Again, see if you can go to a shop and try them on. I cannot wear I4s because they are too small for my head. For me, Grills are ideal.

Well Ideally I would like to buy a marker that you could add to and would be able to upgrade as you get better at the game. So what if I up'd my budget to say £300?? would that get me a better all rounder?

As for the mask, someone has already told me to spend more on that and get a decent one so I went for the Proto Switch Axis Pro in Camo. Really comfortable and doesnt fog up at all. Only down side I heard it has is that it can go through some lenses but at only £20 a pop I don't mind.

Fair enough... seriously, the only real upgrade to a marker other than air is a new barrel (or barrel kit). Personally, if I was you i'd buy an Etha. Planet Eclipse are based in Manchester and their markers are solid and their support is top notch. It is an entry marker from them but is seriously good.
The Etha is £305 and will be great for woodland and sup air. You WILL need to use air with it so no CO2 - and the only real upgrade is a barrel (kit) - but it doesn't mean it is pap out the box, it isn't - a barrel kit will make it more effecient (better ball to barrel fit = less air blowing past the ball) and better accuracy.
Then if you want to go all cool, get the EMC kit for £60 and it turns it into a scenario-style marker with pictanny rails so you can mound torches, sites, bipods, magpul grips, stocks etc
I promise you, bang for buck you can't beat it and you will be very happy.

Seriously, don't buy from the States. It helps kill the uk industry and whilst it may look cheaper, you'll get hit 20% vat, then handling fee and postage. If you have a problem, marker will need to go back to America.
Oh and it could be seized by customs.

Not worth it.

Yeah read up on it but it does seem to much hassle to be honest.

Only 1 last question though, why have an air bottle and not Co2?
