Let me clarify that, you do not need to part of a team to play on the sup-air training fields, but walk-ons are not allowed to play on the rec-ball fields.

As a novice to anything but woodsball, what is the difference?

rec-ball is the woodland, urban and village type fields.
sup-air uses the inflatable bunkers as per tournament play.
