Anyone care to join me in a boycott of Imagine Entertainment? They're the production company responsible for "8 Mile", starring Eminem. Apparently, there is a scene in this movie in a which a paintball marker is used to shoot at a police officer and vandalize his vehicle. Of course, no one was wearing face masks, or protective equipment of any kind. Furthermore I think we should all write to Imagine and convey to them our dissatisfaction with their production. They are responsible for promoting vandalism with paintball markers, and for further harming the public image of the sport of paintball. Well, who's in?

Searching for the pro-tour....:S
If I remember correctly there was quite some discussion over this scene when the movie was released.

I wasn't overly impressed at seeing a tippman pro-carbine being used to shoot at pedestrians or police cars. However given the context it was portrayed in I feel it could have been far worse.

The fact that the lead characters are almost arrested for it has to be a plus point.

In order to make a difference it would take a "Name" from our sport, backed up by some visible signal of authority ( police, mayor etc.) and say the producer of the movie to make a statement saying this kind of rubbish is illegal, using paintball markers in a public place is a crime and that paintballers do not do things like this.

Also then get rid of all the sh**e markers peddled by Walmart et. al. in the states and by some shops in the U.K. Introduce gun registration, compulsory registration of players etc.

Thats a quick summary of all the threads at the time, if I missed anything please fill it in peeps!

P.S. There ain't enough ballers who read this forum to make Jack all difference to Imagine Ent. Unfortunately!

Does this mean that all people that own firearms should basically boycot Hollywood because they show the "improper" use of said weapons? Ofcourse not!
To me it was pretty clear that they were showing what not to do with a paintball gun...
We're just being overly sensitive and nitpicky.

That's fkin outrageous. You mean to say they shot at police officers AND they weren't wearing a face mask. Next thing you'll be telling us they didn't even chrono it before hand.

I've noticed that every time a baseball bat is used to bludgeon someone baseballers get all uppity too...

Eh???? Stop major chains selling pball gear and promoting the sport AND make it more diffcult for new players to get into Paintball while we're at it? Good plan...
