Hi all,
I just received this HPA bottle that I got from ebay; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380111650734

It is supposed to be new but the pressure guage is at 1k and I attached it to my gun and it appears there is air in it - granted I only fired one shot but I'm reluntant to do any more in case the tank is dodgy.

Is it normal for new tanks to read 1k pressure on the guage? Or have I probably got a dodgy tank. Thought I best get some proper knowledge from you guys before I approach the seller.

Thanks for any advice

Well, having air in it doesn't NECESSARILY mean it's dodgy. If you're wondering if you've been sold a used bottle at new price, have a look at the threads. If they're pretty much pristine you should be A okay, but if they're a bit chewed up/worn then it's probably been used and misadvertised. I'd like to say it's probably fine, but if there's any doubt take it to your local site and see what they think. Hell, at least you know it can hold 1k psi lol.

Contact the ebay seller and ask why there was air in the bottle, they may have filled it just to check for leaks?

eBay is full of sneaky people who sell stuff as new when it isn't.. Advice going forward for anyone wanting a bottle is not to buy from eBay! I hope the OP has come up trumps but you're really playing with fire buying stuff like this from eBay. It's world renowned as an ideal Market place in which to offload old tat!

I nearly went for one of them as a backup as it was considerably cheap and it seems he has a job lot so i did not think anything maybe a mist !

Will keep an eye on this thread, kudos for posting it up !

The re-test date is 08/2013 so it's ok in that respect. The only thing about it is that the bottle sticker is a bit creased but apart from that the threads were as new. The finish isn't smooth all over but I guess that's a paint problem?

The question is......should shops/persons be posting pressurized HP air bottles through the post with a 1000psi in the bottle,i presumed it against the policy's of most couriers to transport them
