Bottle Reg Issue

Hey, as I was unscrewing the bottle from my gun today - holding the gun and bottle - I noticed that as I twisted the bottle, the bottle began unscrewing from the Reg instead of the Reg being screwed off the gun - I noticed as soon as it happened though and screwed it back on before it came very far unscrewed but as slightly shocked to say the least.

I believe reason it began to unscrew is because the gun was still gased up (no on off fitted to my gun atm) and the pressure kept the thread of gun to reg tighter than that of bottle to reg...

My question is basically, what can I do to prevent this from happening again? Frankly, I dont want to die!

Any advice fellas?

Its a thread that my mate posted up because his tank did exactly the same thing. Very scary that it only need to be hand tight! Brown trousers time anyone?

Thanks for that one mate, read through it all, seems im safe...for now. Seriously though, that scared the living crap outta me, ive unscrewed it so many times before with no problem that I was just doing it and chatting to the team not really paying attention to what I was doing. Certainly been an eye opening experience for me!

Isn't there a small hole in the thread of the reg 'bout half way down incase that happens, so that the air escapes through it instead of winding it all the way off and the bottle shooting out of ya hand? or worse?

hold the reg not the bottle.

Reg = good

bottle = bad

And that is exactly how a woman died in teh US a couple of years ago.
A mArshal was chaging bottles, not paying attention, it cam off teh reg and flew into her head.

Its not dangerous as such, if you pay attention, which you always should when dealing with HPA or CO2.

You dont want teh reg loctited on either as that just sucks like Divine Brown.
Hold teh reg and fire teh gun as you degas it...that will also help to save your bottle o-ring and make it easier to undo.

Or, hold teh reg still and turn teh gun around it
