Bottle Polishing

Hey all, got a 1.0ltr air bottle. (metal)
Will it damage it in any way to take off the black paint coating (as it is very chipped)?
Also will this invalidate it's test or something?

not sure about this one...ive definatly seen unpainted bottles tho......i wouldnt have thought that is would affect anything......might be worth thinking about just repainting it tho?

Yeah, but to repaint it properly I'd probably have to take the paint off in the 1st place to make sure its a nice even coat?

mmm true.....my advise would be to ring or email hpac and ask them, im sure they will know

Let me know if you find out, because I've got a steel tank with alot of the paint wearing off too.

Someone i know had a quantity of gov. air bottles, they were all stripped of the scratty paint and re sprayed, then tested by hpac successfully, so the answer is yes
