Can i just ask are all paintballs different sizes? - its just that ive noticed all the different size barrel inserts that are for sale or bore sizes , if so what would be the best remedy be for a newbie like myself , am i likely to but a batch of paintballs that are either too small or too big for my marker? i would of thought that if pb,s were smaller than the bore then wouldnt i lose power with everytime i shot as too much air would escape between barrel and pb, or if pb was too big would,nt it jam in barrel?

In short: Yes.

Overboring your barrel will mean you lose a little bit (only a little, mind you) of efficiency. You won't lose any velocity if you chrono and adjust using the paint you'll be using in game, so you've no need to worry about the power of your shots dipping.

Underboring your barrel means barrel jams/breaks. Real pain in the arse.

Most markers come with a .693 barrel, and this'll do you fine for whatever paint you use. Alot of people just keep the one-size-fits-all overbored barrel, efficiency doesn't really matter that much when you're refilling after each match. You can buy a barrel kit if you like, Un1tech barrel kits are about £60 for a set of .685/.689/.693. I have my .689 Un1tech and I love it, I've never had a problem.
