Bore size or Good paint? Accuracy question

Hi,
Probably a stupid question to someone who knows but anyway my stock barrel is 691 well most paint just falls straight through that so if I had a matching bore size would that improve accuracy? people on here seem to say 693 is the perfect barrel for all paint but what I've noticed when I get paint that falls through the barrel with no resistance my accuracy is terrible.

If I had correct bore and crap paint would that be the same as good paint and 693 barrel?

Obviously roundness of ball, bore size has an effect but which is more important?

Cheers,
Fishy

Surely though if you overbore by loads the paint is gonna bounce down the barrel instead of going straight since the air pushing behind wont be even.

exactly, youve really answered your own question, I believe when people say 693. is the best size is because of its a large bore but it still has a reasonable influence on the accuracy on most paint, i.e my ego 11 comes with a stock 689. and i haven't got a shaft 4 kit yet so due to my large paint i was having breaks all day as the paint was getting stuck and breaking in the barrel, a good barrel kit is priceless. and generally paint flys differently due to price, bore, and weather/temp. hope this helps.

If you're really geeky you can seek out the slow motion footage of balls being fired down a clear barrel. You would think it would bounce around but it doesn't, it kind of floats down the middle. Empirical evidence indicates that underbore and overbore both increase accuracy over bore match.

I found this vid which does a really good job of showing the diff between over and under boring.

You would think as I do when you chrono maybe its the paint im using but ill get like +-20fps because the barrel is so over bored. That video seems to say under bore means more spin so less accurate. Anyone have any other theorys why over bore is better than under?

You would think correct bore size = same fps per shot = same accuracy per shot am I wrong?

Underbore equals accurate and more fps but more chance of breaks if it's damp.
Bore match equals less accurate and less fps than under bore.
Over bore is as accurate as under but less fps than match and least likely to break paint.

So a bore match sounds the best or just slightly over so its very little resistance?

I use site paint usually even though its usually good stuff they are never the same bore apex seems to work best when I get a good bore match. I played with over bore and the accuracy was terrible almost took out my own team lol boomerang style.

I'm gonna get a freak kit just so I can keep a good bore match sounds like a good investment at the mo.

All my barrels are 69 something - I find them just as accurate, and you can shoot through breaks to clear them, matching or underboring= more breaks until ou clean them
