I know since the beggining of the information highway othrwise known as the internet, information has become sooooo much easier and faster to relay..

but are there any books about paintball?

~the rules
~the game
~the markers
~tecnique

.....anything?

There must be an actual, real life, paper clad, book
even if it is paintballing for dummies somewhere?

Does anyone know of anything of the sort?

there was a couple of books printed a while ago but to be honest they were out of date when i read them about 10 years ago

titernet is without a doubt the best place to pick info up....the newbies section here is the perfect place to ask all the questions you want without the worry that you might make your self look silly asking daft questions.....we are all as daft as each other on here :)

THe problems is that the sport is so young it's changing rapidly in technology, style of play AND rules (and naturally every differnt tournament series has it's own set of rules).
You then have to add into the mix that there are 3 main types of paintball played - tournament, scenario and rental/walk-on, each with their own very distinct differences.

Any paper book written today would be out of date within a few months at the outside - face it, the Millennium Series hasn't even managed to get this year's rules published on the internet 2 rouns IN to the season!

I suppose that is very true, as like some other people have said all the books are out of the ark.

i wanted a book, not because i am to shy to post up what i need to know on the newbies section, :D

but just because train journeys suck and i thought maybe something profitable could come from them, best stick to PGI or WPG lol

thanks anyways

There are only about five or six people who could actually produce such a thing anyways. Of course, lots of people could write a book about paintball but I'm afraid the likelihood would be, it would contain nothing more than hogwash, bullsh!t and misinformation.

I think there maybe an opportunity for someone who could collate a book inasmuch as they could go identify the people who know what they are talking about and get them to contribute but then you would need an editor who knew what they were doing and once again, that editor comes down to 5 or 6 people....

I've been thinking the same thing lately and while I'm not interested in a generic paintball primer I've been thinking about writing a book on 'Playing Xball.' :) It would of course include basic player fundamentals, techniques and drills as well as the in's and out's of team xball play, coaching, tactics, etc.
And my self-editor has already insisted on restricting my vocabulary. ;)

How you doing, Pete?
