Bonding Titanium...oops I mean aluminium

Ive broke my pump arm on my mini orracle :| oops. Sheared the threaded part off the back off it and I cant find anywhere in the uk that sells mini pump arms.

Anyone know any reliable methods to bond titanium?

yeh, TIG weld it, dont know how easy it would be.

either that or buy a new arm, and cut it down and re-thread it, after all that is all the manufacturers tend to do.

cant see my TIG welding it....on a car yes...on this no.

Yeh prob will do that but gonna see if theres anyother options yet.

i wasnt saying u should do it necesserily!! to weld it, champher each end to a point and weld round it, grind down to size.

or ring locktite technical services, if you can bond it with glue, they will tell you how and with what!!!

drill and tap the bar and threaded bit, let's say 3mm and use a length of 3mm threaded bar to link them both together with a good application of red loctite.

I'd like to see you drill titanium-especially wiv the choco drills you can buy in B&Q!!!!-can't you buy some stainless/silversteel and thread/bend to suit?
