To address both pics, the markers seen this weekend are both preproduction samples of Bob Long's new marker otherwise referred as the Mummy2. Yes, Bob decided to leave it unwrapped this weekend at the Legacy versus XSV practice at the Enemy Paintball Park in Lodi, CA. Now that the mummy has been unwrapped, pics and comments are welcome.
To answer some questions and clear up any misconceptions, here is some info for all those interested.
The production version will not come with the high pressure regulator known as the Torpedo. An all new HPR will be introduced with a variable positioned input port, to address comfort and shootablility.
Production samples of the new 3D grips panels have not arrived, which is the reason older RL or Hybrid panels were modified to temporarily protect the electronics for the time being.
For those who noticed the straight backstrap, the missing palm swell will be addressed in the future to accomodate those who favored it.
For the feedneck doubters, all I can do is laugh, all current Alias based markers and all gen4 markers have permanent based feed necks and I've only seen 1 in thousands sheer off where a replacement body was needed. BTW, that was a marker that was accidently stomped on by a teammate, jumping off the bed of my pickup.
This new hopper mount system is foolproof, stronger, permanent, and most importantly allows a loader to sit lower than any center fed marker to date.
Target release date is the San Diego NPPL in Sept. 06.
The release of this introductory model will be a Special Edition, which will include a custom laser engrave finish and upgraded electronics package.
Straight out bob longs mouth release date on september 8th with an estimated price of around $1000 or £500 (nothing confirmed yet)
