I believe its in to increase (smaller gap - more pressure) and out to decrease.

Just out of curiosity, why would you wanna do that though. Obviously to keep air out of the gun, but that would mean having to adjust it everytime

Even if you backed it all the way out surely it wouldn't turn off the gas?

Anyone tried unscrewing the grub and taking out the spring and brass thingy, then turning on the gas?

I don't think backing it out will turn it off, will just reduce the pressure, wouldn't recommend taking out the circlip and grub screw as they hold what few internals there are in there.

other than that, the reg's are set at the right pressure when being tested, so personally i'd say leave it, if your looking for a way to just turn the air off, get an inline switch or something.
