bit of advice

Hi all, think I've been bit by the pitbull bug! Went yesterday to a site in keighly west yorks and enjoyed it immensely. Don't know if it was just the thrill adrenaline or the fact I chuckled to myself every time I gave a head shot. Anyway is there any tips/advice you would give to someone new to the sport obviously I know not to go in like rambo but I seemed to use quite a lot of paintballs for the day. 700 intact, is this normal for a full days paintballing? Any tips or advice would be brilliant also if anyone knows of any stockists in the York area so I could bend there ear and hammer them with questions they've probably heard a million times. Lol

playing this type of paintball is an expensive way of playing and is not designed for regular players, it is more aimed at one off stag parties, birthdays, youth groups etc. if you are playing quite aggressively then 700 is normal for using these type of markers but it is obviously offputting when you are expected to pay upwards of £50 for it.

if you are looking to play regularly then first find some fields nearby where they have 'walk on' events where regular players with their own gear pay a one off fee then either buy heavily dscounted paint from regular prices or bring their own paint. if you get past this stage then get to the fields and meet the people and see if this is for you. afterwards start building up your gear, with the simple things like masks, hoppers, packs etc. (loads of info on these forums and gear for sale in the classifieds) so you can get playing at these kind of events which are much more cost effective for regular players. paintballers are generally a nice bunch of guys and will happily give you a loan of gear in the meantime. the vast majority of business for paintball shops is done online so have a look at those listed at the top of this page or have a quick search online for other UK dealers.

I actually thought that was the going rate for paintballing and to be fair I would spend that once a month to get "the buzz" lol but if you can get it cheaper thats brilliant might be able to go once a week lol.

if you have the money and are willing to spend it i think it is safe to say you won't be disappointed! just remember that playing regularly has the large initial set up cost of buying all your gear but after that, playing these recreational walk on events is one of the most cost effective ways of playing regularly.
