If you've tried Paintball, but been put off by the high cost of ammunition or the amount of pain you suffer when you get hit, then Airsoft is the ideal answer. Ammunition is far cheaper (£15will buy 3.700 BB 'rounds') and because the BBs are so small and light (less than 1/4 of a gram !), they don't leave you with a bruise the size of a melon. Because there's no paint, it's also less messy.
Airsoft equipment is more realistic. Hire-equipment will have semi- and full-auto capability (where as Paintball is limited to single shot in the UK), and all the equipment is designed to replicate the looks, features and sometimes actions of real guns. This means that you can get your hands on M16's (used by the US armed forces), AK47's (used by Russians armies), the futuristic looking Steyr AUG (used by the Austrian and Australian services) and the MP5 series (used by British armed police, American and British elite special forces), as well as many others. A sample of other equipment available include replica Shotguns, Uzi's, the famous Glock 17 pistol,
revolvers (like the .357 Magnum) and the massive M60 and M134 mini-gun (as featured in Terminator 2). "

paintball is better i think

whats he talkin no full auto u can but not at fields and airsoft hurts more than paintball (so says all my friendz that airsoft but dont paintball ) o well and u can get real looking guns but they helluh expenmsive some of um.and airsoft guns break easy as shiznit and they hard 2 fix some of um so ya... and some dumbazz ppl go around with the airsoft guns in da streets and cops go and arrest um.... not everyone is that stupid tho... real stuff ya well whatever paintball is still way more known then airsoft so i dont care about airsoft

But seriously, as fab as p-ball is there is only so much encompassed by the subject and with new folks showing up on a regular basis what happens is some typical subjects come up over and over again 'cus it's new to the new peeps. So you can either direct them to past threads, pretend it's new to you too and join in or do what I do--mock and belittle all the forum newbies for your own enjoyment.

Its like football and rugby,I competed at decent level rugby and soccer has nothing to do with rugby so leave the two sports separate. If you want to dress as soldiers and shoot bbs through realisic "guns" then good luck to you.
Paintball and soft air are as alike as darts and poker.
