How funny it is...!
After my comments on the questionable choice of the judging teams at the upcoming "Maxs Masters" I received a good dozen
mails by German teams/players and learned more about the German scene than ever before.
Two guys told me to shut up (I'm wondering which team they play for - always looking for fresh meat ;-)), the others told me details which really caused me headaches...
It seems some teams wanted to judge but were declined by the event promoter, e.g. "Headhunters" and "Eifel Blitz". Alright, both are not top 24 but proved to know the game at Millennium 2001 (Headhunters: 33, Eifel Blitz: 36) and seem to have quite a good reputation as judges as well as players in Germany...(didn't Headhunters judge the last "Polish Open"???)
The promoter chose to take "Syndicate" instead. This is a new team, formed by ex-members of "Templer" and "Predators". I found "Templer" in the current ranking at #43 but no "Predators". All the German guys wrote me they were chosen cause they are sponsored by the promoter. No big deal - business as usual at big events. But at a Millennium event? Should be a NO NO !!!
Let the guys from Headhunters etc. judge and if you are still looking for judges at season's end for heaven's sake take Syndicate. No problem - but stick to your own rules and justice! We are talking of 300 points worth judging!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK????
Come on guys of the Millennium board, still one month to go...I trust in you and know you can fix this as I trust in the whole series. It's the best series we ever had on the planet - no matter what the Yanks say....
