The Class A National Championships will be broadcast on College Sports Television network as part of a 3-show series. The shows will also include coverage of the rest of the event, so there's still plenty of opportunity for Class AA and High School players to get your mugs on the tube.
Additionally, Xbox has agreed to be the title sponsor of the event. They'll be on-site doing demostrations, contests, giveaways, etc.
The years of patience and work has paid off folks. This is will be the first time a network has paid for a paintball event - until now, all the shows you've seen on TV are there because the promoter paid the network for the air time.
Most of the game coverage will be highlights of the Class A semifinals and most of the Class A Finals matches, plus some highlights of the first round. Although the last regular-season qualifiers are this weekend, teams may still qualify for the tournament by playing a special qualifier at Nationals on Friday, April 15.
Teams that have qualified twice (1st or 2nd at Cup, 1st or 2nd at Fall NEIC Class A, 1st or 2nd at Spring NEIC Class A, 1st at West Spring Class A, or 2 teams to Huntington Beach) have a free entry to the Class A Championships. Entry for teams that have qualified once is $1,000. Entry for teams that have not qualified is $2,000.
Of course, the College Class AA and High School National Championships (5-man) are still open to any eligible team who wants to play ($300 entry after waivers).
More details to follow.
