You'll be able to get a top end marker 2nd hand for a fraction of that price. Intimidators are probably the most top end but i like cockers. What ever floats ur boat.

hope it helps in someway, if it doesnt i will be offended.

Depends what you call top end really.

I mean...a Shocker, is a Shocker for example...they all need stuff doing to them...but a stock one, is cheaper, than a Private label one.

Timmys are jumped up Spyders with funky milling..sorry, my opinion...oh and they bounce like my mrs on a good day..

Cockers are stonking gats...Nexus Cockers are really nice looking Stonking gats...but...they are a tech heads gun..

If you fiddle with them, without knowing what you are doing...you can casue yourself grief...if you dont, they are very reliable, lend themselves to accuracy, fast as you like, and very efficient...also, teh most upgradeable gat you can buy...noting you cant change.

DM4/5/C and soon the DM6 *COUGH*...are excellant, well made guns..and DYE have very good tech support...bit gas hungry, but that can be remedied...

Cant tell you too much about Ego's, other than they work on a similar principle to Timmys, but are obviously, much better, because, I dont like Timmys...and they were made by Planet, which is another Bonus...they are very popular, and a few custom versions are starting to appear...'

Angels...never liked the original Angels...but teh newer Speed 05, G7 etc seem to be very god, very pretty gins...not sure if they still group like a shotgun at High rates of fire, but hey...that can be addressed...

For christs sake, dont buy a new gun...waste of money...especially, if its an Angel...

Can get a 2nd hand XSV Ego, Mantis Ego, bit more and buy a new Nexus Ego.

Nearly new, DMC or DM5

G7's top end (LiPS could get you an Arsenal G7 or Joy Fly) mm pretty.

Timmys are very cheap these days. Could get 2 or 3.

With my own experience. All I would say is check out the spares situation, are they readily available. Also tech's , if your marker goes bang, you may need help.

To me , that means a choice from Planet Eclipse, WDP or Dye.

others may put me right , but I am yet to find another manufacturer with such high quality back up in the UK.

there are alot of top end markers but at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference.

i personally like the e-cockers but i am starting to get out of that habit and into the matrix's !

Go to your field and ask as many people with high end guns as you can if you can shoot theirs. If you act awestruck or impressed, most will be more than happy to let you have a go, as it gives them a big ego boost :D See which one you like best. But if you want personal opinion, I'd say you just cannot beat the build quality of an Angel. And used prices are superb (I've made the mistake of buying two of them new, don't ever do that, the resale value tanks, and you can get a 2 month old model for half of what it went for new). Never been a fan of the spool valve design due to it being inefficient, and less, I don't know, graceful than others. Timmy's, I'm with Skeet, nothing but a super-spyder (that's not just an opinion though, you can take a spyder body, drill one hole in the bottom, fill it with a timmy ram in place of the hammer and mainspring, and install a timmy LPR in place of a front volumizer, bolt on a gripframe big enough to house the board and solenoid, and you have an intimidator), not exactly a $1300 gun, IMO, if you go by build and design quality. I own an angel, but I'm also a big fan of the MacDev Cyborg, AKA Viking, and Autococker for high end markers.

Interesting point but can ANYONE find a more simple, beautiful, elegant way of cycling and firing a paintball than the Ion? A small elecrtomagnet firing a bar up and down inside its coil to block off a pipe.

Hey, before the flaming starts, I'm not suggesting that they're a top end marker.

*runs off shouting "Just that they perform as well*

No, seriously, I'd better back that up.

I have had several ego owners shoot my Ion and be amazed, and admit it's every bit as fast. On the other hand it's set up well by and expert (me ;) )

I'm not going to bollock around with accuracy arguments - there are too many factors and it's every bit as good as an ego or anything else. It IS gas-hungry our of the box, and anyone who doesn't ft a QEV to improve this wants their bumps felt. Once done, this makes it perfectly acceptable. It also means you can't make it good without invalidating the warranty.

I'm a massive Ion fan. It's always a delight to compete and occasionally beat teams who have spent five times as much as us. SP have dreadful, and I mean new levels in awful, customer service, and atrocious quality control. I don't accept there's any problem with longevity, just inconsitency with finish of parts.

why so much timmy bashing, they are undenyably goog markers wheither you can make one from a spyder or not. The only real problem with them is finding techs and parts. Almost any gun, shocker, ego, timmy, dm5, e-blade will do the job well with some slight upgrades, its your personal preference with weight, kick back and gas efficiency etc.

Wasnt saying dont buy an Angel..just not a new gun, full stop...and especially not an Angel, because they keep bringing out new ones, so the its going to be wortha poo load less than the new price, quite rapidly..I like the G7, yummy...
