Welcome to the wonderful world of paintball:D

Firstly you will find that different people may have very different opinions regarding set ups, and I would advise you to take everyones comments on board and work towards your own conclusion.
I've only been in the sport for 2 years but there are alot of VERY experienced guys and gals here on the forum who can offer you invaluable advice(y)

I've got a set of I4s and I think they are fantastic, really comfortable and great visibility, the only problem some people have with them is they are smaller than most other masks around, which leaves your neck/chin more exposed depending on the size of your head. Alot of people go for Profits or E-Vents, but you would have to get information from someone else as I've never used them.

In my opinion a Mini is a great starter marker (depending on the generation, gen 2 or 3 are what you should look for). I started with one of these and I couldn't fault it, I used it for a year and never had any issues. Also you can usually pick one up for roughly £120-£150 on here:)

I've always used the same bottle so you would be better off taking advice from someone else on that.

As for the loader, I would avoid gravity fed and definitely try to stretch your budget a bit to get an electric loader. The Dye Rotor is one of the best on the market, easy to use, sleek design and quite a large capacity (and you can normally get one for £70-£80 on here). But again, other people may have better suggestions.

Where are you based? Or where are you looking at playing? You'll find that there are great, friendly people that make up this community and I'm sure anyone would be willing to advise you or possibly even let you try out equipment to help you make your mind up(y)

Hi mate

welcome to p8ntballer :D

first of all before you buy anything like a marker or whatever i would buy a decent mask with a thermal lense for yourself and when it comes to masks dont buy the one tht looks the coolest buy the one that feels the most comfortable as when you play a woodsball game that may last 15-20 mins then you switch sides for another 15-20 thats 30-40 mins and if youve got a uncomfortable mask or its to big/small or steaming up after 5 mins its not a nice feeling. best thing to do is if you live near a paintball shop to go and ask to try some on or ask some people at your local site .

for the marker the mini is ok aslong as you get it new or make sure if its second hand then it has to be the newer generation as the first lot had teething problems. If i was starting up again knowing what i know now id buy the 2011 proto rail as its only £200 new and its soft on paint and has some really nice features like the eye pipe which is found in £1200 markers like the NT and DMs. failing that there is always the GoG Envy which is £150 new which is very similar to the proto rail but £50 cheaper as it doesnt have eyes but its VERY soft on paint...... personally would avoid anything tippmann as you just end up buying another gun or pumping money into it and it doesnt change performance at all.

Tank...........as long as it holds air its fine.. there are some tanks that are lighter and smaller and have pretty colours but who cares!

Hopper/ Loader
id get the rotor if you can afford it or they pop up on here alot for around £70-80.

also the invert halo too is a decent hopper for the price it will keep up with all guns aslong as your not on 25bps full auto or some mad mode!

just get the best you can afford at the time and have fun !
