i was looking at some halflife/steam game mods and i found this

in the beginning...
In the beginning, there was Half-life. Valve Software's critically acclaimed first person shooter that broke all sales records, and is still the most widely played game today. More recently, mods, or modifications, for this game have become increasingly popular. Games such as Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Firearms, Natural Selection, and Team Fortress Classic are some of the most popular ones to date. Digital Paintball is akin to these other mods in many ways, and in many ways, Digital Paintball is different.

what is dpb...
As previously stated, Digital Paintball is a modification for the Half-life engine. It seeks to bring the fast and furious gameplay of paintball to the home pc, and it seeks to do a damn good job of it. Previous retail paintball games have just totally stank (no offense to the developers), and we are trying to make a paintball game that is as realistic as possible, while still being fun to play.

how about the gameplay?
Digital Paintball's gameplay is somewhat unique: You start out at the beginning of the game, and are given a fixed amount of "credits". Using these credits, you can select any configuration of equipment that you want. After you have selected your gear, you are put right into the heart of the action. The game is round-based, and depending on the map, either capture the flag, elimination, center flag, or attack/defend
i had a bit of a blast with it last night and it bloody rocks, has angels, bushmasters, cockers, automags, a choice of barrels and about 15 really well designed/rendered game feilds. you need a copy of the original halflife (amazon.co.uk £8.99) and a copy of the steam updater ( http://www.steampowered.com to play the game, but thats not too much of a hassle to sort out.

if you have hl and you fancy a bash at this you can download the game here (46mb from a fast server) seems like the perfect way to keep in the sport during these cold winter months.....

it didnt, but this is a beta updated version. ITS 1000% better and much easier onlien playability. And im not saying that just co si own at it :)

also makes you feel right in the action, almost as good as the real thing except for all the yank kids going yeh this GUN is crap it only fire one bullet.

just wana strangle em. but owning them at the game will do.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO CS LOVERS OR HATERS!

DPB 2.1 can be played on non-steam client (i.e the one CS 1.5 is played on) and its exactly the same as the steam version, just runs a bit smoother, but a lot of DPB servers are switching to Steam now.

Hold the phones though, hopefully lookin to get my own DPB server soon...no more whining yank kids and crappy rec-ball maps! ;)
