As in my sig, I have an 04 Monkeylove Halfblock Racegun!

Yesterday I had a few issues (mainly drop off) and one was my barrel. I borrowed a freak (cheers Lee!) and noticed that my air consumption increased loads!

I want a decent barrel kit with a good choice of bore sizes, but is also pretty efficient with air (well, as much as it can be!).

As a full freak is under £100 now from Smartparts then the kit has to be around that price.

What do you guys suggest I go for?

Air efficiency, is affected by both barrel length, and barrel porting.
The longer the barrel, the more friction to be overcome...hence more air required.

More holes in the barrel, means more air needed to push the ball out, coz lots of it escapes.

Good kits include: Evil Pipe, Empire, Powerlight Sceptor, CP and others...not freeaks...

The danger with a thread like this is everyone swears by what they own. My twopennorth...

I used to have a freak, and became disatisfied with accidentally bending the inserts. I swapped to a Pipe and am a massive convert - stylish, quiet and efficient.

The idea of the lucky 15 appeals a lot - if you can avoid a join, that has to be better. They're still mighty rare, mind... One of the plus points for freaks is you can pretty much always borrow bits at a tourney...

why have a barrel set?

just get a big bore barrel. shoot through easy, dont have to lug a ten piece set about and makes you officially cool :)
