If a set of Ultralights isn't doing it for you, I'm not sure anything will, they're a great barrel. I use an Evil Pipe kit, and it's been good to me for the past couple years. Empire and CP barrel kits were the thing to have a couple seasons ago. I don't think you could go wrong with any of those.

I am of the school of thought that says a paintball gets up to 300fps in the first inch or two of the barrel.

So the pressure the ball sees during acceleration should be the same in both barrels.

I havent noticed much difference in concistency but a straight bore barrel will allow you to shoot more brittle paint without breaking it.

I guess if the paintball is not perfectly round it can become unstable in the loose bore section of the barrel.

If anyone wants to buy me a high speed camera, a beowulf cluster and a load of pressure sensors I promise to try and find out.

I sold my pipe kit the other week because I was looking to change to use Ultralites instead. The evil pipe kit is blooming great tho in my experience, been really consistently accurate and has a great selection of backs for every ball :) I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Also if you're gonna sell your ultralites, could I buy them? :D lol *threadjack over*

Wasn't all of this tested to some extent during Tom Kaye's barrel tests four score and seven years ago? Or do I just need to talk to my doc about upping that prescription?

i personally like freak kits for their advantage of being able to change over to a different marker without having to buy a whole new kit again, then again i know you will be looking for accuracy mainly in a barrel but are you also loooking at weight, cost, or asthetics? since these will also influence peoples opinions,

and remember people are often slightly biesed to one side brand loyality at times or sponsership
