Okay we all break paint, if it be in the barrel or the breech (although I ain't ever in 14,000 shots with me x-mag :D). But if you were to break in the barrel what would be the barrel you would choose if you had to shoot through it? Which one seems to clean itself out after a few shots? Whats your thoughts :)

Apparently, not that I'm an expert, the Evil set is supposed to clean itself after a break. That's why the porting on the barrel is at a 45 degree angle, to 'blow' the paint from the ports.......

Seems to work OK for me.

I don't think there is a barrel that will actually 'clean' itself properly without a squeegie.

Even with the Evil, you still get a few wingers.........

its all glorified advertising really......if your paint to barrel match is near enough then a few shots should get most of the crap out of your barrel.
theres no scientific reason one barrel would be better than another in this respect as the paint doesnt adhere to the barrel at all....i guess the worst it can do is fill the porting up with gunk but thats nout new

answer: good squeegie and a fluffy stick!

the worst barrel for shoot thru is the freak, if you get a barrel break in that you're screwed.
Agreed. I was using a Freak yesterday... At one point I swapped my Freak with a friends (same marker, front and insert) I couldn't believe it, my marker turned into a blender and I was getting loads of FSDO. Definately doggy QC from Smart Parts.....

so barrels cause FSDO now do they? new one on me:confused:
i had pretty good shoot through with my freak yesterday.
ask Thundercat, one game on the hyperball off the break i misjudged my slide and ditched the barrel tip in the sand (doh). broke a couple of balls plus a bit if sand in the porting, and i went on to shoot a couple of guys in that game, next round i went out to find out i'd not cleaned the barrel (doh) played the game, again no problems.

I was playing front, and the majority of shots were a close range, up to about 30ft. but I still had good shoot through, obviously not extremely accurate, but good enough to get the kills.
If you're playing back and have this problem, just go mug em, cant miss then ;)

added: forgot to mention, have you looked at the hammerhead barrel kit. they are 'supposed' to be amazing to shoot through. i posted a video a while back, i'll have a look for it.
they were expensive if i remember, but with the exchange rate now, price would be same as a freak/pipe kit.
