Allow me to forestall all the cries of "get a freak" by saying that you can get a freak barrel set with a choices of fronts (All American or Teardrop) and a back and inserts variously sized to match your paint. from Smartparts.

I have a S/Parts teardrop barrel, but the bore size was too small for the paint I was usuing so haven't seen it in action yet. Otherwise I have a Jacko infinity barrel and Ceramik which work just fine, I think you might be able to get the Ceramik from Planet Paintball in Manchester.

Although I'm seriously tempted by one of the brass-lined barrels from Palmer pursuits in the US

I have an RT and i use an Armson SSR 2 piece barrel and i love it. a really well made barrel and i haven't had any problems with Zap or Diablo going through it. been tempted by a freak barrel but can't be arsed coz i like the SSR too much. i also use a boomstick but not much these days.

Have to agree with How. When I had my mag (god I miss it:() I used an 18" boomstick (ok maybe a bit long but I am a back player) and I never had any problems with paint breaking or anything, and the accuracy was brilliant. Check out planet's sale section as they normally have some good deals going.

All well and good reccomending a boomstick, as long as the pain you use actually matches it otherwise all this talk about accuracy is BS!

Paul.

P.S. If you can afford it get a freak!

It's been a while since I last shot a Mag, but the best results I've seen from Mags have been had with Armsons (Stealth and SSR), DYE stainless, and BOA. Certainly an Ultralite would be a good choice as well. As for a multibore system, I believe Mags do a little better with the CP Pro barrel than the Freak, but again that's just what I've seen so far.
