Just say i was bunkering some poor fool
and in the 10 cm before i shoot a ball hits me
The adrenaline alone will make me put a ball on him.
Now the judge doesn't know who got shot first but i tell him it was me
Will i be penalty pointed for playing on, even though i was honest?

No i don't think so.... The ref and the other player both will probably be stunned speachless :D

but in a situation like that when you took a hit a fraction before you fired and you know it then no i do not believe it will be considered cheating or an infraction for you to say "no ref leave him in i felt this hit on me just before i shot"

Do you mean playing on as in shooting him or running to the next bunker?
If its just the one shot, I wouldnt consider it playing on as its maybe only a few seconds at most between getting hit and shooting your opponent. In that situation, I think if I was the ref, I would either call both out because both have been hit, or just you because you admitted it. I dont know

jeeves, nice to see that you made a simple enough thread seem totally confusing.

- Kris means play on, as in a single shot
- Kris said he was going to tell the judge

does that make it simpler.

at the end of the day i would have thought that it depends on the marshal. Not wanting to sugget that they can be bias, if the marshal was looking for a chance t penalise a team, be it kris's or the one he was facing, he ould swing his decision to suit himself.

I can see there being any reason for you to be penalised, but at the same time, i would still see both players being eliminated.

that help?

There's been a couple of threads touching this subject recently, and the general opinion is that you shouldn't be penalised. What if that one shot that hit you had bounced? You can't be expected to pull yourself up mid-mug to check yourself!

Admittedly I'm limited to rec play but you still get occaisions where you mug someone and take a hit a fraction of a second before you fire. I'll make a point of telling the marshall I got hit first and walk - it makes the ref's life easier, and tells the opposition that they're playing against honest people who don't cheat. You'll be surprised how much nastiness this averts.

Similar in other contact sports where you don't have the full competition paraphernalia of judges, floor-spotters and electric timing boxes - you have to be honest and acknowledge when you've been hit - otherwise (and I've done this myself, I'm ashamed to admit), you go in good and hard with the next one and let the person really know that one's landed.
