Okay I got a brand spankers ego 8 and to my knowledge it has little/no paint put through it yet. Just wondering if it is recommended to put a certain amount of paint through it to bed in the reg and rings etc? If so, what is considered a sensible amount to do so.
I remember reading somewhere that a reg will run more consistant over the chrono after a certain amount of use.

I know new engines on cars need a good run out before being 'thrashed':D, is this the same with a gat?

Only reason I ask is that I intend on putting about four or five cases through it on its first outing and dont wanna get caught out over the chrono. Trying to get rid of my 'branded' name......"hotgun Al:rolleyes:".

You reckon a case is enough to settle it down over the chrono?

Despite my utmost respect for Lump, I would offer the opinion, that Eclipse might not recommend such action.

Jack once commented that a few dry shots are OK, but to run a marker in, over the specified 10,000 shots, DRY, would be "taking the pi$$".

My suggestion, would be to do what Lump said, slightly lower the velocity and use Re-Balls if possible.

Grab 500 from somewhere an just sit and fire them through the gun into a sack or something, reload, repeat.

The effect of a ball in the breech, offers back pressure, which stops potential damage from occuring.
