Convicts Scenario Team in association with Frontline Paintball are holding a big game on June 3rd 2007, based on the taking intact of the bridge at Remagen by the U.S 9th Armoured Division. The game we have designed should appeal to the scenario player that likes a straight forward, full on, face to face battle; giving each team a chance to both attack and defend the bridge(s).
The game will start with the defenders controlling the whole site except 2 small spawn points from which the attackers will start the game. Their mission will be to clear the mainland of the defenders which consists of 4 game zones with 1000 point flag in each (convoy, jungle, village and waterfront). Once this is accomplished and the bridge(s) are reached, there will be an explosion as the attempt to blow the bridges by the defenders is carried out. This attempt, as in real life, will fail - allowing the attackers to put a 6 man assault team across the bridge(s) to form a bridgehead. The game will then resume with the attackers trying to expand the bridgehead by getting more men across; then taking the final flag on top of the hill – meanwhile the defenders have to wipe out the bridgehead and prevent this.
Below are the allied battle plans, to assist in the successful execution of this mission:
1)There are 7000 points to be earned in total.
1000 for each game zone
1000 for each bridge
1000 for the hill - which will finalise the capture of the entire island
2)Each team will be given 3 hours to attack and then 3 hours to defend
3)If the attacking teams bridgehead is wiped out by the defenders they can buy another assault landing, this time using eight men but this will cost them 1000 points
4)To keep the game moving along and to give an advantage to the attackers, they will have two medics (1 per spawn point) who can move up with them as they advance (once zones have been cleared of enemy resistance); where as the defenders have one medic who has to stay on the island.
5)The water gap the bridges cover is approximately 15m wide by 1.8m deep (this is real water people; no need to imagine anything)
6)Full on site air 3000 & 4500psi in the safe area ,plus 3000psi tanks on the island to save time for the defenders
7)Camping is available on site and at local campsites around Southport, which also has plenty of hotels and bed &
breakfasts (links to follow)
