Length- all depends on you. Some people like longer barrels to push the cover around (air bunkers or tree limbs) to get a shot through. Some like shorter barrels so they can stay tighter into their cover and still fire out. It depends on your style of play. A 16" barrel will have no more accuracy than a 10"

One biggie about barrels is bore size. Paint comes in different bore sizes so you want to get a barrel that matches your paint. Look at the type of paint you normally shoot and buy a barrel to go with that.

Well, 98s are a bit longer than most other guns, so I think anything more than a 12 inch barrel might seem a little unwieldly, but in the end it's about what feels better to you (is there an echo in here? :D).

Also, I think it better to start with a medium-large bore barrel, so that you can shoot all kinds of paint... some less efficiently or accurately than others, but nevertheless you can shoot more different types of paint.

I myself prefere the 14" since you are able to move objects (super air) and have long range (woodland).

But with having a freak (or some other types of barrels) you can change the barrel length with just adding longer or shorter barrel fronts.

Must... resist... mustn't...post....No failed.

There is no reason whatsoever that 14" barrels have longer range than a 12" except for that extra 2" further ahead that the paintball leaves the end of the barrel. If the muzzle velocity of a paintball is limited to 300 fps, then (by simple physics) that limits the range of the paintball.

Ne0zz have you had a look at the reviews of the barrels on this webiste or warpig or anything? That might give you an idea what is good.

You're confusing long range with "how far can i shoot and still hit what i'm aiming at".

Physics and clamp down tests prove zero difference between length of barrel in terms of range. Its when you add the player on the trigger that you get differences since it is generally easier to aim with the longer barrel.

14" is in my opinion somewhat better than 12" because with most setups it balances and points better. 10" works well because it doesn't extend out too far beyond the front of the gun, so it's just part of the package you're pointing, like a finger extending from your grip. 14" gets out in front and forms a line of sight. 12" is too in between and just f**ks the whole thing up.

Sorry I must of being really asleep :( Since I was @ Uni

I was supose to write.....

I can shoot better @ longer range with a 14" barrel in Woodland because I use the barrel to line up where as in super air with the field being so small you dont have to to this.

 Better get readly for work now :(
