Barrel stuck together (etek 2)

I recently bought an etek 2 off the forum but have stupidly got the two piece barrel stuck together. I'm pretty sure that the threads aren't crossed and that I have just done it to tightly. Is there anything you can reccomend I should do?

its reverse threaded, turn it as if your doing it up

That hasn't worked either :S any other tips.....ihave also emailed p.e saying basically the same thing as the thread starter thing. But they won't get back to me untill after they get back from some tourny

i had the same problem, i got 2 wrenches, taped old leather in the jaws, got the wife to hold one while i twisted the other, worked ok, no scratches, just be carefull.

aka Campaign Cup, the biggest tournament in the UK......

Next step is you cool the tip end of the barrel, aka put the tube in the fridge then when it is nice and nippy pop the back end in hot water.

The aim of this is to expand the metal on one end and contract the other so the threads come apart. A strap wrench with a cloth may give the extra purchase you need to encourage things apart.

I used to use something similar to THIS (nip to page 2, expanding stop) to get backs of cockers back in the day...

Yeah sorry bout that, I'm just getting use to all these tournys and leagues
