It's just cleaning the inside of the barrel, unless they are talking about having the inside of a barrel treated with something.

A nice slick surface inside the barrel, without any smeg from previous paint makes a good surface to fire through. Brass is great for polishing and makes a great barrel, even with scratches and stuff. Just get a fluffy squegee or soft rag on a stick and get rubbing!

Often if you are playing with rentals, just giving the barrels a good clean can improve the performance of the gun by an immense amount.

You have to be careful if you're actually taking material off the inside of the bore... you will change the size and end up with an expensive useless tube.
Rain-x on the inside of the barrel works pretty good. I'd stay away from products that leave a buildup, such as car waxes and such.

NeddyBoy, stay off those damn tippmann forums ;) They'll only make you do useless mods to your m98. The barrel polishing is oly for the stock barrel really, but that sucks anyway.

Heres how we used to do it and it works a treat.

You can buy at any gun shop a shot gun cleaner. It is a small fury end (like you used to get on squeegies) which screws into a booden stick.

Screw the fury bit onto the stick and then put it into a drill. Then smear toothpaste onto the fury bit and insery into the barrel. Start the drill and start to polish.

Also a tip on getting the balls to fly straighter is to tumble them for a couple of minutes prior to use. When a ball stands it can form an air bubble inside. By tumbling the balls this air bubble is distributed through the paint making the ball fly straighter.

Thanks

Andy

Yup toothpaste, its an old trick ,honest:) .All toothpaste is, is mint flavour grinding paste at the end of the day, but its much milder than Tcut and won't take the lining of the barrel out.
Might try the RainX tho';)
