basically if i shot through a whole hopper in a single string i was getting ice on the barrel. standard occurence except that it wasn't co2 it was on air! it was cold and the tank had been inside so would this be the cause or has the tank been filled with air that has not had the moisture taken out before being compressed? or is it something else?

Its scotland ;)

Ok, when compressed gases are released, they cause things to freeze, just like co2, and since its extremly cold up there anyway, it just lets it happen quicker :D
