barrel for my ion?

hi all, i`ve just bought an ION but the barrel that it comes with is pretty naff so im looking to a new barrel but not sure which one is the best?................i spoke to smart parts and they said get the FREAK KIT because its the best but i did`nt think i be spending a £100 on a barrel!!!!!!!!!!!!.... has anyone got an ion with a upgraded barrel??? thanks

Go for the freak if you can afford it mate. I've got one on mine and it makes it sooo much more accurate. And at least you can get a decent pain-barrel match.

You could always look for a second hand freak back on classifieds any impulse threaded barrel will fit, the all american back is good and now relatively inexpensive if your on a budget....Pete

how much did you want to spend and what do you mostly play?

i would stick a smarties tube on it mate,

couldn't be any worse than stock!!

go for a big bore barrel and forget about it.

i think planet eclipse have some ion barrels in their sale section for very respectable prices!

mate i would say go for a Freak Jnr mate as there pretty cheap (well kind off) and you can slowly build it up so you have a whole freak at the end.

Just have a full freak kit, treat it well, and it will treat you well, and youll never have to buy another barrel again.

And if you do change markers you will only have to buy a back in another thread, and they aint expensive.

There are other barrel kit options, but i have only used the freak, and it rocks!

Hi, I've got a 14" J&J Ceramic which was inexpensive and works fine, If you believe the hype go for a barrel kit of some type. if you just want a barrel that does the job well, then get one barrel that fits most paint.

The 14" J&J's Weight is less than the standard (12" i think) barrel, and the unported length is about 10" which is longer than you will get with a kit, so should give you better gas efficiency than a freak kit, as long as the paint is an OK match (but if your going to play tourneys that wont be an issue unless you plan on trying to shoot a box of paint every game)
