Hello

The fin size is to do with the bore. Looking at the web Hammerhead web size the barrel comes with 3 fins with a choice of different sizes. These are barrel attachments for different sized paintball. If the barrel is to big for the ball you can lose distance, speed and accuracy. As the paintball can be different sizes and can give you a slightly better contol of the ball.

If you are looking at different sizes I would go for a .690, .688 and .686 or .683 as they dont give you a great range of fin sizes the other 2 sizes are .679 and .683

Have you heard of the smart parts freak inserts? Very similar sort of thing.
